The shield of S. thalassemoides features a posterior margin straight, equal in posterior extension to posterolateral corners resembling S. princeps, S. rietschi, S. spinosa and S. 2’,3,4,4’-tetrahydroxy Chalcone web thorsoni sp. n.; however, S. spinosa can be separated in the other individuals because its shield is considerably wider than extended and by having its anterior keels exposed. Additional, S. thorsoni can be separated in the other folks by getting more abundant, strawcoloured, delicate introvert hooks, whereas the remaining species have fewer, thicker, darker hooks. Because there are actually no concentric lines in their shield, S. princeps could be distinguished from S. thalassemoides and S. rietschi.
